Andrew Shook, Senior Advisor, Finance
Andrew Shook is a Senior Advisor, Finance, at Gray Stone Advisors. He advises corporations and family offices on aircraft ownership, flight department strategy, team development, and aviation economics.
Andrew brings more than 25 years of institutional finance and executive leadership experience to the aviation sector. His background spans capital markets, structured finance, and commercial real estate, where he has originated, structured, and executed billions of dollars of transactions. He has held senior roles at HSBC Bank USA and Banc of America Securities, and was a founding executive of Ischus Capital Management, helping scale the platform to over $5 billion in assets under management.
At Gray Stone Advisors, Andrew focuses on applying institutional-grade financial discipline to corporate aviation. He works with leadership teams to evaluate fleet strategy, improve cost visibility, and align aviation assets with broader enterprise objectives. His approach centers on treating aircraft and related infrastructure as capital-intensive business assets—bringing rigor to decisions around utilization, total cost of ownership, and long-term capital allocation. He is particularly focused on helping organizations run flight departments with the same rigor, transparency, and accountability as any other capital-intensive business unit.
Andrew’s experience in commercial real estate finance provides a distinct advantage in aviation advisory, particularly in areas such as hangar development, ground leases, and facility strategy. He applies structured finance methodologies to assess ownership versus leasing decisions and quantify long-term economic trade-offs across aviation-related assets.
In addition to his advisory work, Andrew is an instrument-rated commercial pilot. His operational experience enables him to engage effectively with both flight departments and executive leadership—bridging the gap between the flight deck and the boardroom.
Andrew holds a Master of Arts in Finance from The University of Alabama and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management from North Carolina State University.
